Why haven't we done one laetly.

Day 6

No update from the girls tonight, they're spending the night with Aunt Lizzie and Uncle Justin. It's 11:00 and we just got back from fireworks on the Mall. The kids had a great time, but Jack's head is spinning around backwards now. We had another great day- Natural History Museum, Folk Life Festival on the Mall, saw Hare Krishnas, toured Adams-Morgan and ate with Aunt Lizzie, Justin and a couple of their friends. We topped it off with the fireworks. Tomorrow, Liz and Justin are watching the kids while Amy and I go to the Holocaust museum. We'll grab a quick lunch and then head to the lake! I don't think that we will have internet access, so we'll try to do a recap when we get home on Saturday.

Day 5

The Capitol! We had to get up early to catch the train to the Capitol. We met at congressman Joe Wilson's office. One of his interns took us around. They have tunnels that go everywhere! It would be easy to get lost! It was very crowded but we got to see where they make laws and a lot of statues. One statue of a guy from Hawaii looks like a box because he wore a box so he wouldn't get leprosy, but he got it and died anyway. Then we went to the Air & Space museum. I liked the old movies of the planes fighting in the Hollywood theater. I also liked the Wright brother's plane and going inside Skylab. We were all tired and needed a break so we hopped on a bus that has an open top. That was way awesome! We rode around for a while and jumped off in Georgetown. We found an Italian restaurant called Pappa Razi's. It was good and the kid's meals all come with a free sundae! We took bus to the Metro station and got on the train home. We all took baths and I'm doing this while Jack and Lillian are going to sleep. Tomorrow we are meeting Liz and Justin since they don't have to work and we're going to see the Natural History Museum and some other things and then the fireworks tomorrow night! Don't expect an update until Thursday...

Day 4 part 2

Note- In the interest of bedtime, this entry is being dictated to someone who can type faster...

The first thing we did was go to IHop. I got the smiley face chocolate chip pancake. And then we went to Mt. Vernon to see Aunt Lizzie. We got a picture with the Washington family and then we got to see George Washington's house (the model). And then after that, we went to the intro movie. We walked up to the real house and waited in line. The security guard, Andrew, tried to get Lizzie to cut in line but she felt bad because all of the other people were waiting. So we waited, too. When we got inside we got to see all of the bed chambers. I want to tell you a secret! Liz asked the guard if we could go up in the cupola (where nobody is allowed)! I like Liz working at Mount Vernon. We ate lunch with Liz and drove to the Metro station by Dan's house and got a train to the Zoo. The Zoo was fun, we saw tigers fighting and three elephants. Jack liked the monkeys. They have an O-line that the monkeys can use to cross from one house to the other, but we didn't see any monkeys on it. After the zoo we walked up a very steep hill to meet Justin and Liz for dinner. We went to Justin's favorite Salvadorean restaurant. It was very good, kind of like Mexican food. Then we went to Rita's custard ice cream. it was good. -- MC.

To all those who have emailed, sent text messages and left voice mails for us complaining about the lack of a recap of yesterday's activities, the blog should be updated this evening. An executive decision was made by by the blog King (actually, the blog Queen) that it was too late to get on the computer when we got home last night. We didn't realize that we had such a following. Please accept our sincere apologies. Today wasn't a holiday, you should have been working anyway.

Day 4 part 1- LIllian

today will be busy...we're going to IHop for beakfast and then driving down to see aunt Lizzie at Mt. Vernon...Then to the zoo and then meet Lizzie and Justin for dinner. Lillian

Day 3 part 2

We went to Arrrlington National cemetery and met aunt Liz and Justin. It was fun. My favorite part was the tomb of the unknown soldier. I liked the changing of the guard. we like Dan's house its cool he has his own movie room! We ate dinner at Saigon Garden. I have never tried vietnamese food before. it was good. Lillian had a pork chop with egg and rice. I wish I got that. and now were home. doing my blog. MC.

Day 3 part 1

We went to see Grannie it was good to see her. After we saw Grannie we went to Aunt Pats store while Daddy and Jack watched Spider Man in the car. Aunt Pat let us pick out Viria Bradley. then we drove to DC. it wasn't a long drive. MC.

Day 2

We drove to Harrisonburg. We ate at Kyoto a Japanese restaurant. Kyotos is a place were they cook in front of you. Jack was scared of the fire.and I got a very big drink. And then we went to a place called Klines ice cream it was good. MC

Day 1

we met Vince and Amy's new puppy, Scratch. the best thing about yesterday was seeing my cousins and eating ice cream. we also jumped on their trampoline. Lillian

Yesterday we went to Brixx to eat dinner.Grandma and Grandpa we missed you at dinner UH, we at ice cream at Reid's.Like the picture you can see. We're on are way to Harrisburg. MC

DC

Here's the plan about DC. Dad is going to go work til noon. then we're going to Charlot and spend the the night. Harrisonburg and then spend the night in Harrison burg.and we're going to arrlington national cemetery to meet Liz and Justin
